NSF Director and First Lady Jill Biden Announce Piedmont Triad Regenerative Medicine Engine

In a significant development for the field of regenerative medicine, NSF Director Sethuraman Panchanathan and First Lady Jill Biden visited Forsyth Technical Community College to announce the Piedmont Triad Regenerative Medicine Engine on January 26, 2024.

Based in Winston-Salem, the Piedmont Triad Regenerative Medicine Engine will tap into the world’s largest regenerative medicine cluster to create and scale breakthrough clinical therapies, contributing to an ever-growing industry that is key to healthcare delivery.
First Lady Jill Biden toured the lab facilities at Forsyth Technical Community College as part of the announcement. In partnership with Forsyth Tech, WSSU, and N.C. A&T, WFIRM aims to turn the $15 million into $160 million over the next decade, building a regenerative medicine workforce in the Triad.
